Progress Jiu Jitsu Month in Review- November

In the world of BJJ

  • Tezos WNO 21: Marinho vs Lovato:  Grappling fans were treated to another stacked WNO card, which took place in Texas. On the undercard our very own Owen Jones took an outstanding victory in the final match on the Prelim card. It was great to see Owen shine under the bright lights yet again as he exploded onto the BJJ world stage this year. In the main event, Mica Galvao retained his Welterweight title against Kody Steele. The match was won via RNC but, some of the best action was watching Galvao’s takedowns and guillotine attacks. In the main event of the evening, Pedro Marinho secured the Light Heavyweight title with a stellar performance against the BJJ legend Rafael Lovato Jr. Both competitors displayed their beautiful BJJ. Hopefully this won’t be the last clash between these Jiu Jitsu stars.
  • The IBJJF Crown, 2023 edition- The first event of its kind took place in Long Beach, California. Six athletes were crowned champions( they even got some pretty cool crowns) after the night of amazing gi Jiu Jitsu. On top of the cool crowns, champions received a cool $15,000 cash for their efforts. Tainan Dalpra secured the middleweight crown with a slick triangle submission over Andy Muraski and a 2x0 points victory over Pedro Maia. Felipe Andrew secured Heavyweight gold with a dominant 11x0 points victory over Atos standout Gustavo Batista. Luiza Monteiro and Gabrieli Pessanha won gold with wonderful performances. Monteiro, already a legend in her own right, added another crown to her case of crowns. Displaying her aggressive style she picked up two more dominant victories at the event.

All things Progress Jiu Jitsu

  • Black Friday- We held our only storewide sale of the year this month during the Black Friday Cyber Monday week. Thanks to our amazing community and team, we had an awesome week! We successfully shipped 10,000s of Progress kit around the world ( to over 80+ countries).  More impressively our operations team was able to improve delivery accuracy and delivery speed by over 74% respectively. At the warehouses and offices, we had an absolute blast making behind the scenes content, customer service and picking orders. With lots of lessons learned from this year's event, we are already hard at work planning next year's BFCM to make it even better.
  • Coming soon!- Stay tuned for our last drop of 2023, the VASCO ranked rashguard and shorts. More info shortly… Also, 2024 will be even better than 2023 in terms of pushing the envelope with our design, quality, content, etc…
