Progress Jiu Jitsu Month in Review - June 2024

Hi everyone! Wow, we just finally caught our breath after our first ever summer sale which completed last week. Thanks to you legends it was a massive success. We are already planning the next one for 2025, so if you have any ideas or recommendations send us an email to support@progressjj.co.uk … It might be summer time but things are busier than ever in the world of BJJ and at Progress JJ.

In the world of BJJ

  • IBJJF World Championship- One of the oldest and most prestigious gi tournaments in the world completed in the first week of the month. The color belts absolutely smashed it with amazing matches, showing that the next generation of grapplers will be the best yet. Legend Luiza Monteiro completed her worlds career on top with another world champion performance. Her partner and multiple time world champion Gustavo Batista also took home a gold medal. Tainan Dalpra who was a favorite for lightweight gold was disqualified for an illegal maneuver while attempting to berimbolo. Mica Galvao continued to roll through the competition with another gold medal and a world title.

Polish star Adam Wardzinski reached the top of the podium and added one of the only missing titles from his competition career, big congrats to Adam!  Gabi Pessanha kept on rolling with yet another double gold performance, showing why she is one of the best competitors on the seen right now. In the final of the mens absolute, Erich Munis came out on top against Jansen Gomes. It was great to see so many exciting black belt matchs during the weekend, showing the level of gi players in the world today.

While the worlds was the only major event in June, there is plenty to look forward to. The ADCC and CJI will be here in just over a month. In the first week of August there will be Freestyle, Women's Wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling at the Olympic games

All things Progress Jiu Jits

Besides the summer sale, we have had some other big things happen at PJJ. First of congrats to all the PJJ athletes who stepped up and competed at the IBJJF worlds. Congrats to big Owen Livesey, Ellis and Sam who stormed the Polaris stage. 1 more big congrats to Oliver Tero who won his pro MMA debut! We also redid studio shots of the kids range (along with some new items), big shout out to Progress Sam and Progress Belle. We released Ffion’s new signature seamless set which was a big success. Thanks to Ffion for stopping by for a fun studio session.

Coming soon!-  A couple big drops are coming out this summer for sure, to early to confirm dates and exactly what will be coming out BUT, we can say, keep your eyes out for an awesome new Academy+ set.
